INTRODUCTION:
Our dilemma of prayer-less living and sleepy praying...
- “God is not the author of boredom – especially when we are conversing with Him”
- Colossians 4:2; Ephesians 6:18; 1 Peter 4:7
Discovering a new beginning by going back to the beginning...
We can wake up and pray because...
We always pray to a creative God
“The everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength.” Isaiah 40:28-29
We should pray from the creative Word
“By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.” Hebrews 11:3 (c.p. Hebrews 4:12)
We must pray by the creative Spirit
"But as it is written: 'Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.' But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God ... Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God." 1 Corinthians 2:9-12 (also Romans 8:26-27)
We can pray in a creative way
“Then God said,"Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” Genesis 1:26-27 (also Genesis 2:19-20)
We will pray for a creative Christ
“For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.” Colossians 1:16-18
CONCLUSION:
Stay awake and pray. Your Creative God awaits you.
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21
