30 Days of Prayer & Fasting

"Do I want to be godly or do I just want things to be easy?"

It's a question many of us have asked ourselves during the past few months. If we're honest, many of us are frustrated and weary. We don't know how long this challenging season will last, but we do know that—as individuals and as a church family—we don't want to waste it.

That's why we are leading a prayer initiative from August 23-September 27. Our goal is to seek the Lord together—humbly, intentionally, and expectantly. To help you do that, we're hosting various digital and in-person events, as well as publishing prayer-focused content on CPC Resources

Let's be a church that leans in to this season, emerging with stronger faith, deeper unity, and a great passion to follow Jesus.

Key Verses for the 30 Days of Prayer & Fasting

But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.

Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you

(James 4:6–10).

Looking for some more ways to focus on prayer?

Great! There are many ways that your family, friends, and Small Group can make prayer a focus during our 30 Days of Prayer & Fasting. Here are just a few ideas:

  • Hold a digital or in-person prayer walk | "How to Do a Prayer Walk"
  • Start a prayer chain in your friend group by sharing prayer requests and calling one another to pray on a weekly basis
  • Begin dinner time by praying for our College Park missionaries
  • Parents, consider gathering a group (either in-person or digitally) to pray for your children—particularly as they start this school year.
  • Read a book on prayer (see our recommended books list below!)
  • Visit our church Prayer Wall and pray through the recent requests that have been added.
Would you like to pray with someone?

Maybe you're having a tough day or you feel as if the bottom is dropping out. Whether your need is big or small, the Lord cares and so do we!

We would love to come alongside you. Once you reach out, we'll promptly connect you with a member of our pastoral team to pray with you. I'd Like Prayer
