English as a Next Language (ENL) is a free program that offers conversational English coaching to adult immigrants and refugees, international students, and other students growing their English skills. Children's classes run alongside the adult program so families can grow together.
Classroom Leaders serve as lead coaches, guiding conversation practice and activities and mentoring other volunteers, while Classroom Volunteers serve as table coaches in the adult classes, helping with conversation and classwork. Children's classes are led by experienced adult volunteers, who may be assisted by teens and young adults.
- Time Commitment: One weekday evening per week, September through April
- Requirements: Adults and teens welcome; no language skills required; full training provided
