Marriage Ministry

Having a marriage that glorifies God while growing together is hard work and requires the help of other believers. That’s why College Park provides opportunities to grow and thrive in your marriage.

Classes

Grace Marriage is a marriage enrichment class that provides you and your spouse the opportunity to set aside half a day on a Saturday to enjoy one another and seek God’s wisdom to spark growth in your marriage. Registration for the 2027 session will open in late fall.

Marriage by Design is a six-week class designed to equip couples who have been married one to seven years to build a strong, Christ-centered foundation. Class begins in September. Registration opens at the end of July.

Marriage Counseling

Spouses can get stuck in unhelpful patterns of communication and underlying sin. Marriage counseling with a pastor or lay counselor couple can help center your marriage on Christ and not your situation. Marriage counseling is available to members, regular attenders, and couples currently in the membership process. Complete a marriage counseling request form on our counseling portal to begin the process.

Premarital Counseling

Premarital counseling for engaged couples is available to members, regular attenders, and couples currently in the membership process. Requests must be received 4 months prior to the wedding date.

Premarital counseling includes 4-6 sessions with a pastor or SYMBIS-certified marriage mentor who will use SYMBIS as a guide for your counseling sessions. In cases where there is already an officiant in place or the officiating pastor is unavailable to complete the counseling, couples will be assigned to a marriage mentor.

If you are a member or regular attender who is getting married at College Park, completing premarital counseling through College Park is required.

To request premarital counseling, complete the interest form. Each person will need to submit their own form.

Marriage Mentoring

After completing premarital counseling, couples have the opportunity to connect with a seasoned married couple on a regular basis for one year to receive support, encouragement, and godly wisdom for navigating the challenges of marriage.

Marriage mentors are couples who are members of College Park Church, have been married for a minimum of ten years, and have displayed a godly marriage through adversity and remained faithful to the covenant of marriage. They have completed training led by lay biblical counselors and are SYMBIS certified.

Marriage mentors support you in your first year of marriage and serve as a resource for you when challenges arise. We also encourage couples to continue the mentor relationship after the first year.
