Construction in the Commons

Written by College Park Church on

You may have heard it said, “What happens in the atrium is just as important as what happens in the sanctuary.” From welcoming guests to answering questions to connecting with each other, both areas play a critical role in what happens both on Sundays and throughout the week.

Beginning the first full week of January, there will be construction in the atrium/commons area (inside Door 1) with the goal of completion in February. The project will include taking down part of the wall inside Door 1 for better flow and visibility, relocating the New Here Area and the Resource Area, and expanding the current coffee preparation kitchen for better coffee and tea service.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Cones and/or stanchions will be around the affected high-traffic areas.
  • The Resource Area will be unavailable for a couple weeks in early January.
  • The New Here Area will be relocated to in front of the current Global Outreach Wall to be more visible from both main entrances.
  • All ministry will continue as is with only visual impacts.
  • Coffee will continue to be served on Sundays with the Hospitality Team working out of the main kitchen.

These changes will have a huge positive impact on how we welcome our guests and members and will help our Hospitality Team be better equipped to provide coffee and hospitality every Sunday.

Because you give to College Park Church, we are able to fund these changes using supplemental giving. Thank you!
