STUDENT MINISTRIES VISION TRIPS 2014
We are excited about the possibility of your invovlement with this year's vision trips! It is our prayer that God will work mightily in the hearts and lives of all of those involved. If you have questions about the application process, including forms and deposits, contact Allison Rhea, . If you have questions about an individual trip itself, contact Pastor Joe Wittmer, . Below you will find the dates, costs, # of participants, and a brief description of each trip. Please follow the instructions below to apply.
Arizon Trip: June 14th-22nd. For Jr. High AND Sr. High students. The Cost is $350 + travel. We will take 25 students (15 Jr. High & 10 Sr. High).
The Arizona Vision Team will be helping the Navaho families by providing a Day Camp for teens & children. The team will help with activities, make connections with Navaho teens, possibly do repairs to the camp, and enjoying time with our teammates in Flagstaff by Mt. Elden.
Shepherd Trip: June 29th - July 3rd. For Sr. High students ONLY. The Cost is $175. We will take 18 Sr. High students.
The Shepherd Vision Team will go to the inter-city of Indianapolis. Participants get involved in a community that is just around the corner of the place you call home. The trip involves working with students ages 1st through 6th grade who come from different backgrounds, but mostly poverty areas, doing a summer school/ VBS style program. Vision Team members are the aid to the classroom teachers who are college age interns who love the Lord and want to teach these kids about Christ. The Shepherds Team is with the students all day until about 4pm. They then will be a part of poverty training with one of the Shepherd staff members. This is a great trip to learn what it means to be involved in your local community and also build great relationships with those in the youth group. You will spend a lot of time with each other and with interns from colleges around the country.
Hungary Trip: July 11th-20th. For Sr. High students ONLY. The Cost is $1900 (includes travel). We will take 15 Sr. High students (16 y/o+).
The Hungary Vision Team will be teaching English, coaching sports, and doing maintenance or janitorial type service around the camp. Besides the tasks, there will be plenty of time for interaction with Hungarian teens, plus organizing and running some activities, and probably running a big party for the camp at the end of the week.
To apply complete the steps listed here by January 5th. ***NOTE: some of the forms appear to be Sr. High specific, but apply to Jr. High students as well.
