Our Junior High ministry (The rOck) and Senior School ministry (The grOve) are communities of students exploring what it looks like to ignite a passion to follow Jesus. The main connecting times for both age groups are a weekly large group gathering and weekly small group gatherings. Throughout the year there are also several events, retreats, serving opportunities, and mission trips that all foster vibrant community among our students.

Jr. High - the rOck

The rOck is a community of 7th and 8th grade students.  We have two weekly gatherings during the school year, both in the rOck room (located inside door 3 at the North Indy campus at 96th St. & Towne Rd.).

  • Sunday Morning Big Group: 9:45 a.m. - 11: 00 a.m.
  • Wednesday Night Small Groups: 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Once a month on Sundays when we have Fresh Encounter Prayer Services, junior high students are encouraged to serve in a ministry during the 9:45 a.m. service in place of our regular Sunday morning meeting. We also meet throughout the year for service projects, retreats and social activities.

Sunday Morning Big Group

Sunday mornings include a mix of music, teaching, discussion, videos, prayer and snacks to help students connect with God and with each other.

Wednesday Night Small Groups

Wednesday nights are a time for students to break into student small groups for the purpose of digesting God's word and discussing how scripture applies to their everyday lives. This is a time for students to grow closer to fellow believers and hear truth from an adult leader.  Junior high small groups are gender-specific and include a combination of both 7th and 8th grade students.

Students are placed in small groups through a selection process by both the students themselves and Student Ministries leaders.  The aim of the process is to group students with both peers and leaders who will best encourage them in loving God, loving others and putting their faith into action.  If you or your student has not completed a Small Group Preference Form for this school year and would like to join a rOck small group, please complete the online form by clicking on the button below.  If you or your student has questions regarding their placement for the year, please contact Pastor Joe Wittmer.

Serve Sundays

Once a month on Sundays when we have Fresh Encounter Prayer Services, junior high students are encouraged to serve in a ministry during the 9:45 a.m. service in place of our regular Big Group meeting.

Seventh grade students will spend each Serve Sunday during the fall months preparing for serving in the spring. Participating ministries will lead students through a series of trainings that will prepare them for service starting in January. Trained eight grade students may begin serving during the fall months. Training is required for new 7th graders and returning 8th graders who have not been trained in the area in which they wish to serve.

Students who have not yet signed up for an area of service will have an opportunity on Serve Sundays to sign up. Questions? Contact Pastor Joe Wittmer.

Sr. High - the grOve

The grOve is a community of 9th through 12th grade students. Sr. High students, join us for our two weekly gatherings, both at the College Park Ministry Center:

  • Sunday Night Small Groups - 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
  • Wednesday Night Big Group - 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m.

We also meet throughout the year for service projects, retreats and social activities.

Sunday Night Small Groups

Sunday nights are a time for Sr. High students to break into small groups to digest God's word and discuss how scripture applies to their everyday lives. This is a time for students to grow closer to fellow believers and hear truth from an adult leader.  Senior high small groups are gender-specific and include a combination of 9-12th grade students.

Students are placed in small groups through a selection process by both the students and Student Ministries leaders.  The aim of the process is to group students with both peers and leaders who will best encourage them in loving God, loving others, and putting their faith into action.  If you or your student has not completed a Small Group Preference Form for this school year and would like to join a grOve small group, please sign up by clicking on the button below.  If you or your student has questions regarding their placement for the year, please contact Pastor Joe Wittmer.

Join a Grove Small Group

There is not an organized class for high school students on Sunday mornings.  Instead, we encourage students to use this time to participate in the congregational worship service as well as serve in ministries of the church.

Wednesday Night Big Group

Wednesday nights in the grOve are student worship services that include music, videos, prayer, discussion and Bible teaching. Music is led by Worship Arts leaders alongside of the grOve Worship Team and teaching is led by a variety of speakers including the Pastor of Student Ministries, Joe Wittmer. Our time consists of a short time of teaching answering some of the big questions students face today, interactive breakout groups, and of course some fun and games!

Featured Student Events

Below are current featured Student Ministry events at the North Indy campus. Find a complete list of Student Ministry events here.

Parents & Volunteers

According to Scripture, the primary responsibility for raising a child belongs to the family. But the church is also ordained by God to train people to know, love, obey, worship and serve God - and this includes training teens. Therefore the Student Ministry team desires to partner with parents in the spiritual formation of their teens. We should not (and cannot) take the place of the home, but we can play a vital role in the discipleship of students.

We want parents to stay informed on what the Student Ministry is offering so parents can make the best decisions on how to help their teenage children grow spiritually. Subscribe to our weekly eNews through the button below to stay up-to-date.

Service Opportunities, Worship & Vision Trips

There are opportunities to make a difference all around you. Some are inside Student Ministries; some are at other College Park events; many are outside the walls of College Park all together. The Student Ministries Team sees one of our roles being to connect you to service opportunities. This is how we fulfill our duty "to equip the saints for the work of the ministry" (Ephesians 4:12).
