How to Engage

“GO INTO ALL THE WORLD AND PROCLAIM THE GOSPEL TO THE WHOLE CREATION.” –MARK 16:15

College Park Church desires to see this scriptural exhortation become a reality in the hearts of our attendees, in the lives of our community, and all over the world.

This year, our Christmas Offering is focused on Brookside, a Near Eastside neighborhood in Indianapolis. We will continue our partnerships with several partners to help advance the work of God in our city.

Our Brookside Partners

This year, our Christmas Offering is focused on Brookside, a near eastside neighborhood here in Indianapolis. We’ve given to the Brookside Initiative through Christmas Offerings before (in 2008 and 2012) and have been so encouraged by how God has moved.

Your generosity this year will help support projects that touch on five key aspects integral to healthy communities:

Safe & affordable housing

We are partnering with Covenant Community Housing, an organization that buys and refurbishes homes in the Brookside neighborhood that are available to women who have completed Heart Change's Mother's University program.

Strong educational structures

Our partner for education is The Oaks Academy, a Christ-centered school that provides a rich, classical education to students of diverse racial and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Opportunities for economic development

Our partner for this key element of a healthy community is Purposeful Design. Purposeful Design is a furniture business that offers men an opportunity to experience the dignity and calling of work in an atmosphere of discipleship and intentional relationships.

Jesus-Centered Churches

We are so encouraged by what God is already doing through the ministries of several churches in the Brookside neighborhood. We believe that Jesus-centered churches are essential for a healthy community because only the gospel has the power to change lives. Your giving this year will support Nehemiah Bible Church, Englewood Christian Church, Brookside Community Church, & Wallace Street Evangelical Church.

A Culture of Place & Relationships

Every healthy neighborhood has a sense of place and a myriad of strong relationships between the people who live there. The opportunities for events and gatherings to help foster relationships amongst neighbors in Brookside are limitless.

The Projects

So what exactly will funds from this year's Christmas Offering accomplish? We're so glad you asked!

The 2016 Christmas Offering will support the following projects for our partners in Brookside:

Allow Covenant Community Housing to purchase and refurbish additional homes in a targeted area of the Brookside neighborhood
Start a scholarship fund at The Oaks Academy for children whose families live in Covenant Community Housing
Help purchase a new building and new equipment for Purposeful Design
Offer grants to Jesus-centered churches in Brookside that will help them share the gospel more effectively with the neighborhood
    • Nehemiah Bible Church: Help provide for the complete renovation of a building that has already been purchased, to be used as a youth center.
    • Brookside Community Church: Support a convict reentry program that has already been established as they come alongside men and women who have recently been released from prison.
    • Englewood Christian Church: Help purchase a new, reliable vehicle to support the day care center that serves approximately 250 children in the neighborhood and surrounding area.
    • Wallace Street Evangelical Church: Help fund the beginning of a pastoral internship program that will increase the church's capacity for ministry.
Support a culture of place & relationships through grants for a variety of gatherings and events in the neighborhood

How to Engage

There are several ways you can engage with this year's Christmas Offering and we hope you'll prayerfully consider taking advantage of more than one of these opportunities.

Learn More

Come hear a little bit more about this year's Christmas Offering on one of the general information sessions.

Go

One of the perks of a Christmas Offering that supports local ministries is that you're close enough to go and see the ministries in action, for yourself! We have the incredible privilege of offering several road trips to the Brookside neighborhood in the weeks leading up to our Christmas Offering.

Each road trip includes a short visit to our partners, an opportunity to hear about the impact of these partners first hand, and concludes with lunch!

Road trips are being offered on the following dates. The number of participants for each day are limited, so visit the event page to register.
