STUDENT-INITIATED PROJECTS
Thanks to all of the students and families who were part of the grOve's blankets-for-the-homeless collection that we did with Meet Me Under the Bridge. That was a great student-initiated and lead effort, as was a trip to sing at a local nursing home and painting a fence for an older woman from CPC. The grOve is developing a culture and reputation for serving. Very Matthew 5:16 of you. As students and families come up with more ideas, please share them with Don or Kendall.

LOVE OFFERING  |  APR 22 (6am)
The grOve is taking an offering to help support a mother who has decided to not abort her baby. Thanks to the incredible work of Life Centers, women are encouraged not to kill their unborn babies. As a way to support pregnant women who have changed their minds and have decided to birth their babies, the grOve is taking an offering to give one of these expectant mothers some of the things she will need to care for her little baby. Our goal is $600. Give your money to Pastor Don Helton on Sunday morning or bring it to the grOve on Sunday night, April 22, 6pm.

40 DAYS OF WATER  |  FEB 22 - APR 7
Another student-highlighted opportunity is 40 Day of Water. By fasting from drinks other than water and saving money by drinking water, people are able to donate money to Blood:Water Mission, an organization fighting AIDS and providing clean drinking water in Africa. This year's donations are going to help Uganda where 30% of the population is without clean drinking water. Blood:Water Mission was started in 2005 by Jars of Clay.

SERVE12  |  APRIL 28
This is a unique day of service for the College Park family. We will gather at College Park Church in the morning then spread throughout the community to help our strategic ministry partners work on specific projects that will strengthen their impact in the city and beyond. Register as an individual, a family, a small group or with friends. More info is here. If you don't have a project picked out yet, please consider joining Pastor Don and his family at College Park Elementary School where we will serve at a special event for kids at this local public school.

SUNDAY MORNINGS @ CPC
One of the main reasons the CPC high school ministry doesn't meet on Sunday mornings is to provide students an opportunity to serve in their church. Teens at College Park are a vital part of making ministry happen at our church. Simply put: Sunday mornings couldn't happen at CPC without the involvement, skills and dedication of our teens. Students and their parents are encouraged to contact one of the following ministries to express interest in volunteering:
          • NextGen Children's Ministry - Tillie Pyatte (nursery, preschool, elementary classes)
          • First Hand Hospitality - Jenny Brake (greeters, ushers, parking, etc.)
          • Worship Arts - Debra Bartemus (choir, orchestra, dance, drama)
          • TechServe - Andrew Cecil (sound, video, lighting)

For more ministry opportunities at College Park, visit the church's Serving Hub.

FIGHT HUMAN TRAFFICKING
A high school junior gave a presentation to the grOve on human trafficking. Here is the link she mentioned as one way to get involved and respond to this global epidemic.

MIDWEST FOOD BANK
College Park Church is so excited about what is going on at the Midwest Food Bank, and we encourage our church family to be part of this amazing ministry that distributes food, distaster relief and care items to over 500 non-profit organizations in Indiana, across the USA and around the world. Many grOvers have been a part of monthly distribution days. To keep up with ways to volunteer, including monthly distribution days, visit MFB's website.

BEHIND THE SCENES
The grOve is in need of a team of adults and/or students to take ownership of running sound, running PowerPoint presentations, doing room set-up and making videos. Respond if you have these abilities and/or are interested in getting some training.

SAVED TO SERVE
There are opportunities to make a difference all around you. Some are inside the grOve; some are at other College Park events; many are outside the walls of CPC all together. As the grOve's pastor, one of my roles is to connect you to service opportunities. I see this as one way to fulfill my duty "to equip the saints for the work of the ministry" (Ephesians 4:12). Click here to download notes from a grOve message on service: its motivations, barriers and supreme example (PDF).

Come back to this page often, and pray for wisdom on how you can make a difference in someone's life.
