Summer Camp
Summer camp provides children the opportunity to spend time in a fun environment while being challenged to live their life for Christ. We encourage our children to go to Twin Lakes Camp in Hillsboro, IN.
Fun
Campers will participate in a variety of age appropriate activities such as swimming, hiking, boating, climbing, jumping on the blob, and playing a variety of team and large group games.
Development
While campers have the opportunity to request a friend be in the same cabin, they will be in cabins with campers they may not know. They will have the opportunity to make new friends and to get along with others. They will learn to take risks beyond their comfort zone (parents, they are safe risks). After the first day home, when the camper will be exhausted, parents will see that their camper has grown up over the week they were gone.
Christ-centered
In addition to the chapel services during the day, camp counselors are trained to direct the campers' attention toward the key themes of Scripture that are taught during the week. This happens whether they are on a hike, doing activies on Challenge mountain, or any other cabin activity. They are also trained to help campers learn to resolve interpersonal issues in a biblical way. Many children will make life-changing decisions in following Christ during their week at camp.
Scholarship
Scholarships are available for those who regularly attend College Park Church. This year we have a two pronged approach. Families may participate in a combination of the two based on their financial situation. Families who provide other costly activities or vacations for their children may choose to not officially participate. However, they may want to use the "Earn Points For Camp" program and "pay" their children, so they will have worked for part of their camp fees. Scholarships will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
To apply and qualify for scholarship:
- Register for camp.
- Complete the online scholarship application as soon as possible.
- Earn points, complete and return the "Earn Points for Camp" worksheet.
Scholarship checks will be sent directly to Twin Lakes Camp.
