Adult Bible Fellowships

Adult Bible Fellowships is our “Sunday School” program for adults. These classes offer great opportunities to get to know others and encourage new-found friends. We have several different classes of different sizes which are designed to teach the Scriptures and how they relate to our lives. Classes are open to all adults. The complete listing of classes and locations are in the bulletin. Most classes meet at 9:30 am on Sundays.

Baptism

We believe that the meaning of baptism is to symbolize our identification with Jesus in His death, burial and resurrection. We believe that the best picture of this identification is complete immersion under water. As the believer goes under the water, it symbolizes death and burial. As the believer is brought back up this completes the symbol of resurrection. If you would like to be baptized or have more questions, fill out a form at the information rack and return it to the church office and you will be contacted.

College Park Institute

This is very much like a small Bible Institute. We teach at least 2 classes per year: in the Fall and in the Spring. The classes are taught on a level similar to a Bible College or beginning seminary level. We cover topics such as Systematic Theology, Old and New Testament Theology, Church History and Biblical Counseling. These classes are open to all. We meet on Tuesday evenings from 7-9 pm .

Discipleship Classes

Contact: Nancy McLaughlin – 875-0282

Currently, the following classes are being offered:

Lifestyle Discipleship : The purpose of this class is to provide information, interaction, and application to help believers be more intentional about discipleship within their relationships. The teaching will address principles and truths practically applicable to helping those struggling with significant life issues. Meets for 14 weeks, Sundays at 11:00 am.

Intensive Discipleship Training These modules provide immediate, practical tools and much “take away value” to the individuals who have demonstrated interest and giftedness in the area of counseling. Classes are 1 to 2 hours in length, held throughout the year.

Library

Our church library is a great resource for our personal growth. We have books to help you study the Bible, devotionals, Christian fiction and Christian living. We also have Christian videos available. Our library functions like most – books and videos need to be checked out and returned. Volunteers are needed in many areas of maintaining a library: checking books back in, shelving, re-covering, typing cards, filing, etc. We depend on volunteers to keep our library a vital resource for our church.

Membership Class

We believe that church membership is biblical and important. We hold a Membership Class to encourage attendees to become followers of Christ, members of College Park and ministers in this local assembly. This membership class is four-weeks long and is held every other month on Sunday mornings at 11:00 am . The classes are led by several of the church leaders. The first week is an introduction to the church and the value of church membership. The second week we divide all the attendees into groups where they share their testimony of faith. The third week covers some of the opportunities for new members to serve Christ here, and the fourth week focuses on the church’s commitment to the member in discipline and shepherding.

This class is held the first Sunday of every month at 9:30 am . It is the same each month and is designed for newcomers to attend one time so they can have informal discussions with some of the church leaders about the church and ministries. Individual questions are answered. It is a great opportunity to understand the purpose and goals of College Park Church .

Flock Groups of College Park

This is a discipleship ministry for those wanting to connect with others attending College Park Church with a common purpose of becoming more like Christ in our daily walk with the Lord. The focus of each group is to glorify God by making disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, through the power of the Holy Spirit interactively.

  • Apply the Word of God in their everyday lives (Teaching)
  • Build community with love and devotion to one another (Fellowship)
  • Pray for and encourage one another in their walk with the Lord (Prayer)
  • Share their faith, reach out to the lost and serve others (Outreach)

Flock Groups are intended to make College Park “feel smaller.” A group of individuals (married and single) meet together in a home. A group usually consists of 12-15 people located in somewhat the same geographical area. Each group determines their meeting night, and will meet every other week for about two hours. To sign up for a Flock Group, visit our table in the foyer, near the Welcome Center . Volunteers are needed to be group leaders (training provided), and hosts are needed to open their home for a group to meet.
