On December 4, 2016, members from both The Chapel and College Park Church voted in favor of College Park Church adopting The Chapel, located on Indianapolis’ northeast side near 91st Street and Allisonville Rd. The Chapel’s last service took place on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016.
Church adoption and revitalization are part of the vision of College Park’s Next Door Mission strategy to foster a family of healthy churches in the Indy-metro area. When The Chapel approached College Park about a possible adoption, after prayer and assessment, both churches sensed the Lord’s leading to proceed.
College Park Church Elders and Pastors are prayerfully considering the future plans for ministry at the former Chapel site, and more information will be posted in February 2017 on future plans for ministry. Over 500 members and 1,600 regular attendees of College Park live within a 12-minute drive of The Chapel property, and there are many opportunities for ministry in this very diverse part of our city.
We are grateful for The Chapel’s gospel ministry and faithful witness over several decades and are equally grateful for an opportunity to maintain a gospel presence at 91st and Allisonville in the years to come.
