College Park Church

College Park Church Compassion Ministries is excited to be a part of a ministry opportunity in conjunction with a meal ministry program at Riley Hospital for Children.  The meal ministry provides meals for the families of children who are hospitalized.

This meal ministry is important for these families:

1. It is so difficult for these families to even leave their child’s bedside, let alone worry about leaving the hospital for a meal.
2. By providing meals, they are able to leave their child’s room, yet still be close at hand if needed.
3. It relieves some of the financial stress of buying all their meals.
4. It is a huge help and encouragement to these families in so many ways.

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are provided seven days a week and are served by area church groups, organizations, youth groups, etc. These meals are provided on a volunteer basis.  The meal is served at the Ronald McDonald House dining room within Riley Hospital for Children.  We believe this is a tremendous opportunity to share our love and passion for Christ by coming alongside and supporting these families through their very difficult time. 

If you are considering this ministry opportunity, please review the guidelines below:

• Prepare and serve a meal feeding 75-100 people.  The meal needs to be prepared in advance.  
• Since the area at the hospital is small, the maximum number of people needed is 4-6 and no children are allowed, per the policy of request of Riley Hospital. All youth groups must be accompanied by 1-2 adults. 
• One meal per week may be scheduled.  Even if your group provides a meal not sponsored by CPC, please contact us since we keep the master schedule of meals.
• The church will provide one roaster oven with return upon the next day of business.
• The meal is served over an hour-long period, so your total commitment time needed for the setup, serving and cleaning should be no more than two hours.  There is parking garage reimbursement - see the volunteer on duty for a voucher.
• The church will cover the cost of the meal up to $150.  We will also provide all paper goods and water.
• All meal receipts should be turned in to Tammi Gant in her mailbox located in the hallway outside of the counseling area for reimbursement.
