We all encounter problems in our walk with the Lord. It might be some sin that has been done to us or our own personal failure. The truth is that struggle is common to the Christian life and is part of how God sanctifies us, and gets us to work through those difficulties with others by our side and using His Word as the Sword we fight with. That is the purpose of soul-care and biblical counseling. We want to provide biblical answers that work and that actually counteract what the world offers us in terms of temporal help. We seek to usher hurting people to the Throne of God and get them to see that Jesus is what they really need. Jesus himself said 'the truth will set you free.' We believe that.
God has called the Body of Christ to minister to one another as we encounter the trials and temptations of life.
Our Counseling Ministry exists to equip all of the saints to be able to effectively handle the Word of God to help hurting people. This includes YOU! We believe that God's design is the "priesthood of believers" which means that His entire Body is involved in this discipleship work. To this end, we offer training opportunities throughout the year that help our soul-care team be further equipped. Our Equipping Opportunities page describes various ways that you can be equipped to help others. As you grow in this area, your own walk with Christ will be enriched and strengthened. We have also identified some biblical resources that we believe will be a blessing to you as you minister to others or as you struggle in your own life.
In addition to our focus of equipping the saints at College Park, we offer biblical counseling to our members and regular attenders.
One of our staff or lay counselors will come alongside you to help you find God and His answers in your valley of trial. We will point you to real Hope and healing for your soul through the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We want to be a blessing and a help to you in your walk with God.
