Kid's Church reaches out to murder victim's family
Alex Anthony was just shy of his 14th birthday when a stray bullet hit him in the head while he was walking to his grandmother's house in the 1700 block of Rural Street in the Brookside neighborhood. A gunfight had erupted suddenly. Two cars sped past, their occupants firing at each other. Alex was hit. He died a few days later after his family made the agonizing decision to take him off life support. His Aunt Tina recalls the incident.
